ER/MALDA DIVISION*Shramdaan at Railway Colony, Malda under ‘Swachhata Abhiyan -2025’ on the Eve of 79th Independence Day*

As part of the *79th Independence Day Celebration – 2025* and in line with the ongoing *‘Swachhata Abhiyan – 2025’ campaign,* a Shramdaan (Swachhata Abhiyan) was conducted today (10.08.2025) at Power House, Railway Colony, Malda by the Environment & Housekeeping Management Department of Malda Division.
The Shramdaan drive was actively participated in by *Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda;* Senior Branch Officers, employees, housekeeping staff, and members of the Bharat Scouts & Guides, Malda.
*Shri Manish Kumar Gupta* highlighted the significance of such initiatives in promoting cleanliness and sustainability, appreciating the enthusiastic involvement of railway employees and community members. He observed that cleanliness is not just a campaign but a collective social responsibility, and reaffirmed Malda Division’s commitment to organizing similar programs in the future to motivate more individuals to contribute towards cleaner and healthier surroundings. He further emphasized that in future, all residents of railway colonies should actively engage in such cleanliness drives, which will enhance hygiene and foster greater awareness about maintaining cleanliness in their localities.
This collective effort was aimed at promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the railway residential areas of Malda Division, encouraging community participation to maintain a cleaner and greener environment. The programme also underscored the importance of public awareness and active involvement to sustain the vision of ‘Swachhata Abhiyan 2025’.
