ER/MALDA DIVISION*Tree Plantation, Shramdaan and Anti-Littering Measures Undertaken under ‘Swachhata Abhiyan – 2025’*

As part of the ongoing *‘Swachhata Abhiyan – 2025’ campaign,* Malda Division of Eastern Railway organised a series of cleanliness and environmental sustainability initiatives today (09.08.2025).
The tree plantation drive commenced with *Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda, planting the first sapling, followed by Senior Officers and employees of the Division who actively participated by planting *approximately 4,000 saplings* at the *Barahat Station premises* to enhance the green cover and promote environmental awareness among passengers and local residents.
A Shramdaan activity was also organised by the EnHM Department at the *DRM Office Building, Malda,* in which Housekeeping staff undertook intensive cleaning of the premises and adjoining areas. This initiative highlighted the commitment of the sanitation workforce towards maintaining cleanliness in railway offices and surroundings.
Further, in a proactive step to curb littering and promote public awareness, *Anti-Littering Display Boards* were installed at various locations of *Sahibganj Station.* These boards are designed to sensitise passengers about cleanliness norms and the ill effects of littering on railway property.
Malda Division remains committed to sustaining the cleanliness momentum and fostering a sense of shared ownership among passengers, staff, and the local community.
